The Falls Church Neighborhood Tree Program

Our Tree City USA is in need of more street trees: Many vacant sites are waiting to be filled!
The Neighborhood Tree Program is an effort to increase the number and quality of street trees in the City of Falls Church and to educate citizens on the value of trees. Here's how it works: A citizen requests that a Neighborhood Tree be planted in the City-owned right-of-way (not on private property). The City Arborist determines the tree species to be planted. The tree is planted either by citizen volunteers or the City's Landscape Division crew in Spring and Fall seasons. It is the responsibility of the City to maintain the trees.
You can help support the program in any of the following ways:
To receive a street tree: Call 703.248.5077 or visit the Village Preservation and Improvement Society booth at the City of Falls Church Farmer's Market. Your name will be added to the list of Falls Church residents who have requested a Neighborhood Tree.
To help plant trees: Call 703.532.0884 to find out when the next tree planting party will be held. You can also volunteer as the Neighborhood Coordinator in your area.
To donate funds: Send a contribution (payable to City of Falls Church) to The Neighborhood Tree Program, c/o Recreation and Parks Division, 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church, VA 22046.
The Neighborhood Tree Program was initiated in Spring 2000 by the Falls Church Village Preservation and Improvement Society and is operated under the guidance of the City Manager and the City's Recreation and Parks Division. Call 703.248.5077 for more information.
